Description: Provide English Language Development, screen and assess students, implement district LAU plan, co-teach sheltered instruction and coordinate translations. Provide instruction in English Language Arts to high school students.
Requirements: Current Oregon Teaching license valid for grades
9-12 with Language Arts and ESOL endorsements. Knowledge of Common
Core standards for language arts. Excellent communication and
classroom management skills. Ability to develop and maintain
positive working relationships with staff, students and
parents.
Qualifications Desired: Experience in co-teaching,
collaborating with general education teachers for push-in
instruction. Preference given to candidates with demonstrated
skills in bilingual education/Spanish language, ability to
integrate technology into the curriculum, successful experience
with TAG and at-risk students. We are most interested in finding
the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may be one who
comes from a less traditional background. We would encourage you to

Classification: .50 Licensed, Regular, position at Newberg High
School; .33 Licensed Temporary position at Newberg High School
Calendar/Benefits: 6.64 hours per day; 191 days per year
starting August 31, 2020. Position includes 2 days for New Teacher
In-Service prior to start date.
Salary range according to the 2020-21 Licensed Salary Schedule-$34,821 – $69,047.70. Newberg School District pays 6% PERS contribution, provides a generous insurance cap, long-term disability and life insurance. Optional Life, AD&D insurance, Short Term Disability, Tax Shelter Annuities, Section 125 health and dependent care accounts, Tuition Reimbursement, Professional Development and Employee Assistance Program through Reliant Behavioral Health also available to all staff.
