Mid-Plains Community College is now accepting applications for the position of full-time Career Coach and MCC Head Men’s Basketball Coach in McCook. This person will play an active role in career placement, assessments, ADA coordination, Transitional Services, and career exploration activities on and off-campus with current and potential students. This person will also oversee all aspects of a successful college men’s basketball team. Successful applicants should possess a strong work ethic, experience in career counseling/related fields, high-quality coaching techniques including excellent sportsmanship, a commitment to success in the classroom, and the ability to interact with the community. Bachelor’s degree required, basketball coaching at the high school or college level preferred.

About us
Mid-Plains Community College, a legislatively designated 18-county district in West-Central Nebraska, is a comprehensive, open access, public, two-year community college system that offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. MPCC consists of three main campuses, one located in McCook, Nebraska and two located in North Platte, Nebraska. Additionally, there are extended campus sites in Broken Bow, Imperial, Ogallala and Valentine with satellite classrooms located throughout the Area.
Qualifications
We need a positive, strategic, team building individual who can support current and potential students in the career goals and actions, lead athletes, plan practices, games, and travel, and execute effective game strategy, as well as recruit strong student-athletes and have a significant presence in the community. Bachelor’s Degree required, while a combination of career counseling and basketball coaching work experience is recommended. Applicants should have a passion for helping students find meaningful careers and developing student-athletes on and off the court and promote a strong foundation for next-level play and transferability.
