Elementary (K-6) Dual Language Spanish Teacher – Omaha Public Schools – Omaha, NE
Plan for, teaches, and facilitates learning for all students
in a dual language, multicultural classroom with a strong emphasis
in Spanish at the Elementary (2nd Grade) Level. 2nd Grade courses
include: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and
Leveled Literacy. Creates a positive learning environment.
Maintains academic progress, records, and discipline.
Works collaboratively with students, parents and staff to provide and implement classroom education to meet the needs of all students. Develops students’ cognitive capacity and respect for learning. Positively fosters students’ self-esteem. Works with and understands a diverse student population.
Integrates leadership, technology, and communication into the curriculum. Plans for and guide the learning process to help student achieve program objectives. Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning. Implements useful diagnostic and progress assessment measures.
Selects and uses effective instructional methods and learning materials. Establishes a cooperative relationship with all assigned students. Maintains open lines of communication with parents, guardians and staff. Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job related knowledge and skill development.
Works collaboratively to achieve the overall purpose of the school’s program and support the District’s vision, aims and goals. Integrates the themes of leadership, technology, and communication with a diverse population. Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education or closely related field from an accredited college or university and a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with an endorsement for elementary education. Proficiency to read, write, and speak the language (Spanish) taught.
