Elementary Teacher for Trauma Sensitive Classroom – Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union – Bennington, VT

Duties (include but are not limited to): The Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union is seeking an elementary teacher to lead trauma sensitive classrooms at the K-2. The ideal candidate will exhibit involvement in supporting students experiencing trauma as well as knowledge of social and emotional learning and positive behavior interventions. Candidates must be eligible to hold Vermont Certification in Elementary Education (1-00) or Special Education (12-82). Use of trauma informed practices to support learning Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment Demonstrate knowledge of subject(s) through instructional practices Guide the learning process toward the achievement of learning goals Use assessment information to provide students with feedback, which is corrective and informative Develop written lesson plans in advance Direct and supervise the work of paraprofessionals, volunteers and student teachers assigned to the classroomMaintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all studentsImplement administrative directives in a professional manner (re: new programs and policies) Adhere to all District policies and regulations
