Director of Professional Learning
Must hold a Postgraduate Professional Certificate with an endorsement in either elementary or secondary education and/or administration; possess leadership qualities, presentation, facilitation, organizational skills, and personal characteristics to work effectively with teachers, students, administrators, parents, and the community; demonstrate knowledge of adult learning practices and experience in designing and delivering effective professional development to adults; have a minimum of five years teaching experience, with at least three years in Prince William County Public Schools at the elementary, middle, or high school level with a proven record of success with student learning; show evidence of instructional leadership skills to include coaching adult learners individually and within teams; exhibit strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to formulate ideas and communicate them effectively; possess a thorough knowledge of educational philosophy, educational research, methods and techniques of instruction, professional development standards, current educational issues, demonstrate cultural competence; and Division priorities; possess the ability to resolve conflict, listen to and appropriately respond to concerns in a timely manner.

Under the direction of the Director of Professional Learning, and in collaboration with the Director of Student Learning, the Instructional Coach will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and the community to design, train, implement, evaluate, and refine the Division’s comprehensive Professional Development program.
