Middle School (grade 5-8) Math & Science Teacher – Windham Southwest Supervisory Union – Readsboro, VT

The Southern Valley Unified Union School District-Readsboro Campus, has an opening for a Middle School Math and Science teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. We are looking for an energetic teacher to work with our 5th through 8th grade students in the areas of Math and Science. Successful candidate for this position will be responsible for: o Planning and implementing curriculum progressiono Actively engaging their students in learning and will be prepared to explain and present materialo Maintaining current knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practiceso Conducting classes with integrity and modeling appropriate charactero Maintaining classroom behavior/management and inspiring a positive environment to promote learningo Modeling intellectual curiosityo Provide accurate records for attendance, and preparing grade records in accordance with school rules and evaluate classwork and assessments in a fair and equitable mannero Develop academic relationships with students and counsel them as neededo Being proactive with parents in order to discuss students academic and behavioral attitudes and achievementso Being actively involved in the Readsboro School communityMinimum qualificationso Bachelors Degreeo Certified or ability to become certified in Math/Science at the Elementary and Middle School levelso Experience teaching both content areasInterested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest, resume, proof of Vermont licensure, copies of transcripts and three current letters of reference
