Position Title: Preschool Teacher (One-Year Position)
Department: Beginning and Lower School
FTE: 1.0 (Exempt)
Reports to: Beginning and Lower School Head
The Temporary Preschool Teacher works with a co-teacher to guide the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of four and five-year olds in a constructivist, developmentally appropriate, play-based program. The teacher assesses students’ progress and reports to parents on a regular basis. This is a one year opportunity set to conclude at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
The Preschool classroom is housed in a building designed to provide a comfortable, spacious, and attractive atmosphere for learning. The Preschool teacher is expected to be on campus from 8am-4pm each school day and to attend other functions as designated. Teachers are expected to travel to retreats, conferences and workshops as well as accompany students on various experiential activities throughout the year. There are some mandatory evening and weekend commitments.
The Preschool teacher has daily contact with children, parents, teachers, and administrators. Some interactions include confidential information.
