JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Harrisburg is accepting applications for part-time Professional Writing Tutors with the Russell E. Horn Sr. Learning Center. This person will be responsible for tutoring individual students (undergraduate and graduate level) on an appointment or drop-in basis for 20-24 hours per week. The Learning Center is open Mondays through Thursdays for tutoring from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The center is not open on the weekends. Preference will be given to Tutors who can work an evening shift on Wednesdays. This Tutor may also be asked to give in-class writing workshops, represent the writing support section of the Learning Center in class presentations, and deliver presentations to First-year Seminar students.
Applicants are required to have graduate credentials in a writing or writing-related field, and should have experience within higher education in teaching or tutoring. Experience with international students is preferred. This position will begin work immediately. The posting will be open until filled.
