Special Education Teacher – Out of District Case Manager – Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union – Bennington, VT

Duties (include but are not limited to): Demonstrate high level of knowledge of Special Education rules, regulations and decision making processDemonstrate high level of communication skills in working with administrators, teachers, and related service providers at out of district educational placements.Case manage Special Education students in out of district placements.Ability to travel to out of district placements Comply with evaluation and IEP required paper work related to students in out of district placementsResponsible for inter-agency collaboration and problem solving regarding children at risk of placement or returning from out of district placement.Answer questions and maintain productive lines of communication with parents, teachers, administrators and colleagues concerning the Special Ed process.Responsible for Federal Child Count reporting and other state and federal reportsResponsible for planning, organizing and assigning Extended Year ServicesProvide data and information regarding SVSU wide special education programs, trends, and needsCoordinate and analyze time sample information from special ed teachers and paraeducators
