Summer Swim Team Coach – Chapel Hill Country Club – Chapel Hill, NC
SUMMER SWIM TEAM COACHES NEEDED
The Chapel Hill Country Club-Ridgewood SHARKS Swim Team is
seeking coaches for the 2020 summer season who are able to work as
a team with other coaches to create great team enthusiasm and
winning team spirit. You will work in the water teaching and
assisting young swimmers with their swimming technique, interacting
with parents, and following the lead of others in charge of the
overall team. This is a great way to spend your summer in the sun
and gain valuable leadership experience!
Work Schedule:
- Ability and Flexibility to work about 15 to 20 hours a week from early May to mid-July. (You will work between 140 and 180 hours over the 9 week season.)
- Prior to June 10th, practices will be from 5 pm to 8 pm Monday – Thursday, and Saturday Mornings from 8:30 to 10:00 am.
- After June 10th, there are 2 practice times each day (Monday-Thursday). 8 to 10 am and 6 to 8 pm.
- Swim Meet Days – starting at 3:00 pm until approximately 9 pm for evening meets on Wednesdays and 7 am to 12 pm for morning meets on Saturdays. The Championship Meet will have extended hours on July 10 & 11.
- You will also be expected to attend occasional team social events (compensated) such as bowling, ice cream social, team banquet– dates are TBD.
Qualifications:
- In-Depth knowledge of all 4 swimming strokes
- Coaching experience and/or related experience working with children ages 4 to 18
- Summer swim team experience (bonus points for Chapel Hill Summer Swim League experience!)
- Experience with creating and executing a plan – you (with the help of the Head Coach) will be expected to have a practice plan for your swimmers each day
- Access to reliable transportation – All practices will be at the Chapel Hill Country Club pool; however, several meets and social functions will be held at other locations in the area.
- CPR/First Aid Certification and/or Lifeguard Certification a PLUS
